The Spa Valley Railway in Tunbridge Wells in Kent has announced details of two special Mother’s Day events.
Customers can enjoy a special Afternoon Tea hamper, filled with freshly prepared sandwiches, savoury snacks, scones, and a selection of cakes, with freshly brewed tea and coffee whilst taking in some of the High Weald Countryside on a steam hauled service along the picturesque line which runs between Tunbridge Wells West and Eridge.
The experience boards at 14:45pm on 10 March 2024 and lasts just over an hour. Tickets cost £50 per head.
If you’re more of a savoury fan, then the Kent Cheese Train also departs from Tunbridge Wells West station on Mother’s Day at 12.55 the same day (Sunday 10 March 2024). During your return trip to Eridge, enjoy a selection box of local cheeses, chutney and crackers served at your table, with a choice of beverage of either cider, red or white wine or a soft drink.
The experience must be booked in advance on the railway’s website and costs £35 per person.
Both events can be booked on-line https://www.spavalleyrailway.co.uk/ and include all-day train travel, so you can also hop on and off the trains to explore the stations – including the Victorian engine shed at Tunbridge Wells West Station – and discover the other nearby attractions such as High Rocks and the Groombridge Place Estate in the beautiful Weald Valley area.
Dining experiences help to generate essential funds to help the railway continue operating for all to enjoy.
