Steam locomotive to haul London to York tour this Saturday

Black 5 No. 44871 will be hauling a railtour from this weekend (24th February 2024).

Departing London Kings Cross at 07:38, the locomotive will pass through Harringay (07:50), Gordon Hill (07:59), (08:10), Stevenage (08:25), Huntingdon (09:00), Peterborough (09:37), Newark Northgate (10:39), Doncaster (12:35) and York at 13:13.

After time in York, the tour will depart at 15:53. Note: the tour is diesel hauled between York and Gascoigne Wood Loop – 44871 will be on the rear of the train. The tour will pass through Church Fenton (16:05) on its way to Gascoigne Wood Loop.

Once reversed, the train will pass through Doncaster (17:07), (17:41), Saxilby (17:52), Central (18:22), Spalding (19:03) and Peterborough (19:24).

Here, diesel locomotives will take over from the Black 5 and will return to Kings Cross via Huntingdon (20:17), Stevenage (20:54), (21:05), and London Kings Cross at 21:26.
