has issued train travel advice for passengers heading to the World Athletics Indoor Championships this weekend.

Trains are expected to be busier than normal as The Emirates Arena in Glasgow hosts the championships from Friday 1st March 2024 until Sunday 3rd March 2024.

ScotRail has added extra stops at station, which is the closest station to the venue.

Phil Campbell, ScotRail Customer Operations Director, said:  “We are looking forward to welcoming visitors to this weekend, and will do everything we can to support their travel to the event.

“With Dalmarnock station being the closest to the Emirates Arena, we have additional stops, to make travel as convenient as possible for everyone going along.

“To make your travel experience as smooth as possible, I’d recommend purchasing train tickets before boarding. The mTicket system, available on the ScotRail app, offers a convenient way to secure your tickets and download them straight to your mobile phone, avoiding any unnecessary queues on the day.”
