Travel advice has been issued to passengers using London Underground trains to check travel plans before making a journey on Monday the 4th and Tuesday the 5th of March as union RMT takes strike action, which will impact services and some stations.
The industrial action will involve RMT members who work for Arriva Rail London, who run London Overground for Transport for London.
Both strike days will see London Overground operating some services, however, no services will operate before 08:00 or after 18:00 for the following routes.
- Gospel Oak to Barking Riverside (which will become the Suffragette line)
- Stratford to Richmond/Clapham Junction (which will become the Mildmay line)
- Highbury & Islington to Clapham Junction/West Croydon/Crystal Palace/New Cross (which will become the Windrush line)
Passengers travelling during the strike action should be aware that services which can operate will be busier than normal, with advice given to:
- Consider alternate routes
- Leave longer for travel than normal
- Check travel plans ahead of making a journey – customers can find the latest information by clicking here to visit the TfL website.
The following stations will be closed whilst the strike is underway and therefore London Overground trains will not call at:
- Haggerston
- Hoxton
- Rotherhithe
- Shadwell
- Shoreditch High Street
- Wapping
Further London Overground stations may see short notice closures whilst some stations may be open but could be unstaffed.
Customers who require assisted travel on London Overground services are advised to pre-book before travelling as staff will not be available at all stations for a turn-up-and-go facility. To find out more about booking assistance for travel with London Overground and Elizabeth Line, please click here for the TfL accessibility website.
On the 4th and 5th of March, services are expected to operate as normal for London Underground, Elizabeth Line, DLR, London Trams and London Buses however, they will probably be busier than usual.
We urge the RMT and Arriva Rail London to continue to work together to find a resolution and call this strike off. Customers planning to use London Overground services are urged to check before they travel, allow extra time for their journeys, and check the TfL website or the TfL Go app for the latest travel information.
