Birmingham-based SLC Rail has secured ‘Great Place to Work’ certification for the fourth consecutive year.

The company has established itself as a pivotal player in the rail industry, collaborating with partners to facilitate the development and execution of various rail projects.

Their expertise encompasses strategy development, funding prioritisation, assistance with funding applications, and comprehensive stakeholder engagement and consultation.

‘Great Place to Work’ is an organisation headquartered in London that is dedicated to fostering resilient, successful, and sustainable workplaces.

They achieve this by offering consultative services, supporting staff engagement initiatives, and providing certification to organisations that meet their criteria. Great Place to Work extends its expertise to support approximately 18,000 companies across 170 countries annually.

SLC Rail’s latest certification was based on a survey conducted among its workforce, revealing an astounding 98% of employees reporting SLC Rail as a genuinely exceptional workplace. This impressive endorsement underscores SLC Rail’s commitment to nurturing a positive work environment where its staff thrive and contribute to its continued success.

This recognition by ‘Great Place to Work’ is a testament to SLC Rail’s unwavering dedication to providing an outstanding workplace for its employees while playing a crucial role in advancing projects within the dynamic rail industry.

Sam Uren, Company Director of SLC said: “We are thrilled to become Great Place To Work-Certified™ again this year as we aim to make our employee experience a top priority.

“Since last year, we have introduced many new employee benefits to support employees, particularly with the cost of living crisis. This includes benefits such as access to free financial coaching, access to an employee discount portal to help people save money shopping and access to backup care for working parents and carers.  In addition, we have also worked really hard on embedding our SLC culture through a number of employee-led initiatives.”

“Great Place To Work Certification is a highly coveted achievement that requires consistent and intentional dedication to the overall employee experience,” says Sarah Lewis-Kulin, the Vice President of Global Recognition at Great Place To Work. She emphasises that Certification is the sole official recognition earned by the real-time feedback of employees regarding their company culture.

“By successfully earning this recognition, it is evident that SLC stands out as one of the top companies to work for, providing a great workplace environment for its employees.”
