Train operators are warning passengers travelling today (22nd January 2024) as Storm Isha has brought high winds and heavy rain to lots of the UK.
Network Rail has placed a closure on all lines in Scotland and will be investigating the lines today to see if / when they can reopen.
Lots of Do Not Travel warnings have been issued up to 12pm today, with a couple of train operators seeing better services:
- Chiltern Railways will have a normal service by 9am
- East Midlands Railway have a normal service except for trains on the Crewe – Stoke-on-Trent route
- Greater Anglia expect a normal service from 09:30am
All other train operators are experiencing lots of delays, please see National Rail Enquiries for the latest information.
Kathryn O’Brien, Customer Experience and Operations Director for TransPennine Express said: “Our number one priority is to keep our customers and colleagues safe, and we will be doing all we can to keep people moving in difficult conditions.
“We are urging anyone travelling across the affected routes to plan ahead, allow extra time, check their journey up until the last minute, and follow the guidance provided.”
