Steam locomotive Kilmersdon was on the move once again – though this time the trip was by road rather than by rail.

The 0-4-0 saddle tank had been a guest for the winter season at the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway at and left on Wednesday 10 January for the trip back to the Mid Hants Railway, which is her current base.

Number 1788 had been at the railway since early October and performed a variety of duties faultlessly, most importantly as a key element in the successful Santa specials which ran in December.

Her final outing was on Mince Pie Special trains on New Year’s Day.
