South Western Railway offers thousands of cut-price tickets

In line with other train operators throughout England and Wales, South Western Railway (SWR) is offering a number of tickets at up to half price until next Monday, 29 January.

The half-price offers are available for some of South Western Railway’s most popular routes to and from London and provide a 50% saving off selected Advance and Off-Peak tickets.

More than 200,000 tickets are included in the sale for journeys between Wednesday, 31 January and Friday, 15 March to over 80 destinations on South Western Railway’s network including , Weymouth, and Portsmouth.

Offers for single journeys to or from London include:

  • – the base for exploring the Surrey Hills National Landscape to the north and England’s newest national park, the South Downs National Park, to the south.

  • Winchester – a city with King Arthur’s legendary Round Table and more pubs per head than any city in the UK;
  • Southampton –where cruises depart to exotic destinations worldwide and visitors can tour  the Old Town and the Maritime Quarter;
  • Salisbury – which has one of the UK’s most magnificent cathedrals and where visitors can visit the nearby world-famous Stonehenge monument ;
  • Portsmouth – the home of Nelson’s flagship HMS Victory and other iconic vessels at the Historic Dockyard, or the departure point for a visit to the Isle of Wight;
  • – close to Thruxton, the UK’s fastest motor sport circuit.

  • Brockenhurst – for visiting the largest village in the New Forest and a chance encounter with enchanting wildlife.
