Brockenbahn narrow-gauge route now available from Dovetail Games

Dovetail Games has announced that Steam Store now has the German famous narrow-gauge railway, the Brockenbahn between Wernigerode and Brocken available for Classic.

The simulation comes from developer WaggonWerkstatt and replicates a journey to the highest peak of the Harz Mountains on this historic narrow-gauge line, passing through breathtaking scenery along every kilometre.

The Brockenbahn has a long history and dating back to the late 19th century, and is one of ‘s most scenic railways. The recreation in Train Simulator allows players to drive from Wernigerode and climb to the final destination at the Brocken summit at a height of 1,125 metres. Along the way, the train travels dense forests, deep valleys, fascinating rock formations and charming villages, whilst providing stunning panoramic views of the Harz region.

The popularity of the line shows why the line is on the bucket list for many railfans.

The locomotive in the simulation is a BR 99.23 metre-gauge tank locomotive that was built by LKM Babelsberg in 1954-56. This is one of the most powerful narrow-gauge steam locomotives built to operate on German railways and is ideal for the challenging task of tackling the ascent of the Harz Mountains.

As well as the BR 99.23 locomotive, the route includes passenger and packing cars that are appropriate for use on the real-life railway. They are all ready to use with Career, Standard and Quick Drive scenarios including:
