Rail customers travelling with West Midlands Railway are advised to check their travel plans ahead of making a journey over the Christmas period, as Christmas markets and engineering work are set to see very busy trains and disruption to services.

Service changes include:
- The operation of an amended timetable between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve
- Services will finish earlier than usual on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve
- No services will operate on any West Midlands Railway’s route on Christmas Day and Boxing Day
- Vital maintenance work will see rail replacement buses replace some train services running out of Birmingham New Street on New Year’s Day. Bus services will depart from Birmingham Moor Street.
- A rail replacement bus service will run between Worcester Shrub Hill, Kidderminster and Bromsgrove on New Year’s Day
Advice has also been given for those heading to the Wolves vs Chelsea Premier League football match at Molineaux on Christmas Eve with fans advised to add extra time to make their journeys both to and from the game alongside checking travel plans on the day in case of any changes to services.

“Trains may be subject to short-notice changes and I would also urge passengers not to rely on late services on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve as last trains will be earlier than usual.”
