Logistics UK has announced the winners of its seventh annual Logistics Awards, with rail industry winners featuring alongside those from the road, sea and air industries.
Shortlisted entrants included operators, manufacturers, logistics businesses and supporting industries.
The awards are sponsored by Visku, and were handed over at a celebratory reception and gala dinner the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, London on Thursday 7 December.
Tesco won the Rail Business of the Year award, with GB Railfreight highly commended. The full list of winners is here.
Earlier this year, Tesco introduced a new rail container, which carries double-stacked pallets, thus increasing its capacity to carry freight. GB Railfreight’s 2023 achievements include opening a new training facility in Yorkshire and developing a new brake monitoring system.
David Wells OBE, Chief Executive of Logistics UK, commented: “Our Logistics Awards showcase the skills, expertise and ‘can do’ spirit of our industry and this year’s entries really have gone above and beyond to achieve their objectives. This year we received our highest number of top-quality entries to date – a clear indicator that the sector continues to innovate and achieve great things for businesses right across the economy.
“All those shortlisted for an award this evening should be very proud of their achievements, as competition was hotter than ever and selecting the winners generated plenty of debate among the judges. And all our winners can be justifiably satisfied that they are at the very top of their game – the crème de la crème if you will.”
