UPDATE: Sutton station has reopened

Emergency services are dealing with an ongoing incident at Sutton station in , and means that the station continues to be closed.

The incident took place yesterday evening (5th December), but rail operators are warning that the station continues to be closed today (6th December).

No trains will call at Sutton station until further notice, with trains that usually terminate at Sutton terminating at (for trains via ) and West Sutton (for trains via ).

Ticket acceptance is in place with London Buses to and from Sutton.

The latest update shows that the station may be closed all day today 6th December.

A spokesperson said “The emergency services are dealing with an incident at Sutton station. While this is ongoing, the station will be closed, and no trains will call until further notice.

The latest update indicates that the station could remain closed all day today Wednesday 6 December. On this basis you will have to use an alternative method to complete your journey. Please check before leaving to start your journey tomorrow morning.”

  1. Unacceptable to close the station for a week, stabbing or otherwise. Knife crime isn’t new and it shouldn’t be that the authorities cause disruption due to one stabbing incident. For those who would like me to think about the 17 year old boy that got stabbed, absolutely sad and all that but let’s not switch off entire critical infrastructure as a result.

  2. I don’t understand why people are concerned about when the station is reopened when its tragic incident of a young man’s life has been taken away.
    You can akways use another form of transport.

    Lets think about the family whio have lost their precious boy.
    My heart ❤️ goes out for them.

  3. Hi just read this tragic news, I live in Surrey and was at the station only a few days ago. How can this happen so close to Sutton Police Station, what on earth is going on, I always felt safe at the top part of Sutton closer to the Police Station but not know! My heart felt condolences go out to the family, soo very sad!!!!
