Greater Anglia is to run an extra train between Ipswich and Norwich for football fans travelling to Portman Road this Saturday (16 December) for the East Anglian derby match.
- The extra train to the match departs at 09.48 from Norwich, calling at Diss at 10.05 and arriving in Ipswich at 10.25
- After the match, the extra train departs at 15.00 from Ipswich, calling at Diss at 15.24 and arriving at Norwich at 15.42.
These trains are additional to the usual scheduled half-hourly service between Norwich and Ipswich.
Ipswich Town, known as the Tractor Boys, currently top the Championship and hope that a win against their local rivals the Canaries will help them win promotion to the Premier League.
The operator is encouraging Norwich fans to travel on the special services, or services leaving Norwich at half past each hour, which have the fastest journey times.
Full details of train times and fares are available here.
Martin Moran, Greater Anglia’s Commercial Director, said, “We know this match is very important to thousands of our customers, which is why we are running additional trains.
“We want to make it as easy as possible for people to attend on Saturday. To save time, passengers are advised to buy tickets online or via the Greater Anglia app before they travel. Groups of three of more people can save a third on fares with GroupSave.”
