Following the popularity of its Burns Night Dining Experience in previous years, next January the East Lancashire Railway is once again running the trains to raise a toast to bard Robert Burns in style.
A luxury steam-hauled train at the East Lancashire Railway will set the scene for the Burns Night dining experience as guests travel on an atmospheric journey in a perfect setting to celebrate the works of the famous bard. The traditional celebrations will be complemented by a live pipe band to welcome guests onto the train.
While the train is being hauled by a steam locomotive between Bury, Heywood, and Ramsbottom, guests can enjoy a meal in a luxurious pullman-style carriage adorned with polished panelling and crisp linen that sets the tone for the evening.
The evening starts at 6.45 pm, and as guests arrive they will be treated to a glass of prosecco before sitting down to enjoy a four-course meal with silver service, which will be rounded off with coffee and an after-dinner chocolate.
The Burns Night dining experience will run on Saturday, 26 and Sunday, 27 January, and to ensure that their experience is perfect, each guest will have a personal waiter or waitress for the experience before the service arrives back at Bolton Street station in Bury at approximately 10.15 pm.
Tickets for the Burns Night dining experience cost £79 per person and can be purchased here.
Mike Kelly, Chairman of the East Lancashire Railway, said: Come and enjoy the Burns Night unique dining experience which always has a great atmosphere as people raise a glass to Rabbie Burns.
Guests love to eat, chat and laugh the night away, whether it s a quiet evening with a loved one or a group of friends celebrating.
