DB Cargo is selling twelve Class 90 and ten Class 67 locomotives.
It withdrew the Class 90s from traffic between early 2023 and July 2023, at which point they were fully serviceable.
British Rail Class 90s are electric locomotives, built for mixed-traffic duties. They operate from 25 kV AC overhead lines, weigh 84.5 tonnes, and typically achieve a top speed of 110 mph.
The Class 67 locomotives are diesel-electric, and were built by Alstom in 1999-200 for the English Welsh & Scottish Railway (EWS).
DB Cargo is also offering a significant number of spare parts for sale separately from the locos.
Potential buyers need to register their interest by Friday 19 January, after which DB Cargo will issue tender documents.
Full details of the sale are available here.
