British Transport Police (BTP) are appealing for witnesses to a racially-aggravated assault on a man who had taken part in a demonstration in support of Palestinians.

BTP have issued CCTV images of the assault, which took place at station on Saturday 11 November at around 8.20pm.

The victim of the assault was walking through the station’s subway after attending the protest. He was punched by a man, and and fell to the ground. The man continued to punch the victim until members of the public pulled him away.

Since the intensification of conflict between Israel and the Palestinians in recent months, there has been an alarming rise in racist attacks in the UK, particularly against Arabs, Muslims and Jews.
