Justin Nathan (18) is preparing to open the new Brent Cross West station.
Brent Cross West is a four-platform station located between Cricklewood and Hendon on the Thameslink and Midland Main Line and will be served by trains between Bedford and Brighton, with a journey time of just 12 minutes to St. Pancras International Station.
Justin, who lives in St Albans, is training as a Revenue Control Officer and is looking forward to meeting customers at the new station. He said “For as long as I can remember, I’ve always seen myself working in the railway. While I was at college, I started looking at jobs in the industry and saw there was an opportunity to work at the new Brent Cross West station.
“Growing up, the railway is something I used daily, which has enabled me to become very familiar with the routes, so I applied hoping for the best and was grateful to be taken on board.
“I started my training at Thameslink a week after my 18th birthday and it’s fantastic having the opportunity to be part of the new Brent Cross West team because all of us are new to the railway which means we can progress together.”
Justin explained how the new station will bring a boost to the local community. “Once the station opens, there will be up to eight Thameslink trains every hour in peak times, helping people travel from north London to central London in just 12 minutes. This is the first Thameslink station that’s opened in more than a decade and I’m really excited to be part of this milestone moment.”
