To provide special recognition for all current and former members of the armed forces, (LNER) has decorated one of its Azuma trains with a dedicated poppy design.

The dedicated poppy design, on Azuma train No. 800 111, is accompanied by text on either side of the train’s front and rear driving cabs that state “To those who have served, Thank You.”

Azuma train No. 800 111 will carry the special commemorative design for the rest of this month and will be in service on London North Eastern Railway’s East Coast route where anyone travelling along that line will have the chance to see it.

As well as decorating one of its Azuma trains in recognition of Remembrance Day, London North Eastern Railway is once again supporting The Veterans Charity’s Routes of Remembrance campaign. The campaign aims to get remembrance moving by having waves of wreaths travelling by train across the UK.

Several more volunteers are set to join the train at Newcastle, Durham, , and , and the train is scheduled to arrive at London King’s Cross before 11:00 so that the Veterans will be in time to place their wreaths as part of the Remembrance Ceremony at the station.
