In line with other train operators, c2c is offering free travel to service personnel and veterans travelling to and from services of Remembrance this month.
Free travel is being offered by c2c on Saturday, 11 November and Sunday, 12 November to service personnel who are travelling in uniform or is in possession of a valid ID, and to veterans who are wearing their medals.
As well as the free travel offer, c2c is commemorating Remembrance Day by having one of its trains, Class 357 No. 357 018, reliveried to remember the 88 local railwaymen of the then-London, Tilbury and Southend Railway, who died during the First World War.
c2c has also shown its support for the Royal British Legion by holding a fundraising event at today’s London Poppy Day, Thursday, 2 November, at the c2c stations at Fenchurch Street, Barking, Rainham, and Upminster.
c2c Managing Director Rob Mullen said: “Remembrance Sunday is an important day of reflection across the country and offering free travel to service personnel and veterans is our way of paying our respects to them and to the local railway staff who gave their lives in the two world wars of the last century.”
