The Ffestiniog Railway will be running a shuttle service this weekend between Porthmadog and Minffordd to help visitors travel to the Crefftwyr Gwynedd Artisans’ Christmas Fair in Minffordd Gweithdy.
On Friday, 24, Saturday, 25, and Sunday, 26 November a shuttle service will operate top and tailed with 2-4-0 saddle tank and tender locomotive Blanche and 0-4-0 Hunslet quarry locomotive Hugh Napier and will run between Porthmadog and Minffordd to the Christmas Fair which is being held at Minffordd station.
The Christmas Fair will bring together local independent makers, designers, and small businesses from Gwynedd offering a range of distinctive products to solve Christmas gift dilemmas.
Tickets for the Craft Fair shuttles will cost £2 for adults, whilst there is no charge for children, and all proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Wales Air Ambulance Charitable Trust.
On Friday, 24 November, trains will depart from Harbour Station at 12:00, 13:00, 14:00 and 15:00. On the return journey to Porthmadog trains will depart from Minffordd Station at 12:30, 13:30, 14:30 and 15:30..
On Saturday, 24, and Sunday, 25 November, trains will depart from Harbour Station at 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00. and 15:00. On the return journey to Porthmadog trains will depart from Minffordd Station at 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 13:30, 14:30 and 15:30.
At Harbour station, the Gift Shop will also be open where visitors can combine seasonal shopping fun with a tasty treat and drinks from Spooner’s Café-Bar.
As an alternative to visiting the Craft Fair and making the journey by train from Porthmadog, return trips can be made in the opposite direction from Minffordd to Porthmadog. Although there is limited parking at Minffordd station, and likely to be further restricted because of the Craft Fair, there is ample roadside parking available on the nearby Business Park.
