The Christmas spirit will descend on the Severn Valley Railway (SVR) this weekend as the first of this year’s Santa Trains will depart from Kidderminster.
The hugely popular trains will start running on Saturday 25 November and will run each weekend until Christmas Eve, with additional services running on Friday 22 December.
Steam trains will run from Kidderminster to Arley. Each group travelling will have a private compartment or a reserved table. After arriving at Arley, passengers can disembark to watch a pantomime which has been specially produced for the 2023 season.
It will be another festive adventure for the mischievous elves Jingle and Jangle who will meet their new friend Jack Frost. But the unthinkable happens and snow stops falling in the North Pole. Can the elves work together to get it fixed? Only those who go to the show in Arley will find out!
Once the show is over, it’s all aboard the Santa train for the return journey. Complimentary hot drinks and sweet treats for everyone are included in the ticket price. Each child will receive a quality gift and a free ticket to come back to the SVR next year.
Lewis Maddox, the SVR’s visitor engagement manager, said: “Christmas is a magical time of year on the Railway. I’ve seen a preview of the panto show and it’s set to be great family fun for both adults and children. It’s one not to be missed, as Christmas at the SVR is all about making precious memories!”
