Cheshire and Lancashire railway stations praised by the Royal Horticultural Society

The Royal Horticulture Society (RHS) has recognised twelve stations on the Northern network at the gardening ‘s esteemed ‘Britain in Bloom’ awards.

The stations recognised as ‘Outstanding’ at RHS awards are:

  • Alderley Edge in Cheshire
  • Altrincham in Greater Manchester
  • Croston in
  • Hale in Greater Manchester
  • Hindley in Greater Manchester
  • in Lancashire
  • St. Annes on Sea in Lancashire
  • in Cheshire

Chorley station in Lancashire won a ‘Gold’ award for the ‘Best Small City’ category for their display outside of the station. station in Cheshire and Squire Gate station in Lancashire were both awarded with ‘Thriving’ certification.

The team at St. Annes on Sea who deal with the station’s displays have now achieved the sought-after ‘Outstanding’ certification for five consecutive years!

Craig Harrop, regional director for Northern, said:
