Somerset and Dorset Railway at Midsomer Norton will see its Wickham Wednesdays return this coming Wednesday the 6th of September and will be ongoing for Wednesdays throughout September.
These special trips offer visitors an incredibly fun chance to travel the heritage line in a unique way, capturing a glimpse of the railway’s impressive restoration.
Trips are available to book online by clicking here, on the railways resident 6 seater trolley B40W.
Alongside trolley B40W will be special guest Type 8S Wickham Trolley 156W which is only big enough to fit one (adult only) passenger alongside the driver and will also offer special trips using a shorter stretch of line.
The visiting trolley offers an extremely special experience with rides subject to demand and tickets priced at £2 each. Please note that tickets for trips in the 8S are only available at the station on the day.
The Type 8S Wickham Trolley 156W recently saw its first outing at Midsomer Norton following a wonderful restoration at the Vale of Berkeley Railway. The trolley’s visit to Midsomer Norton has been possible thanks to Peter Nicholson.
The Somerset and Dorset Railway at Midsomer Norton offers a wonderful slice of nostalgia for visitors of all ages, with services available most weekends and regularly pulled by vintage steam locomotives.
Services operate out of Midsomer Norton South across a mile of what was previously the Somerset & Dorset mainline between Bath and Bournemouth until its closure in 1966. To find out more about visiting the Somerset & Dorset Railway at Midsomer Norton, please click here.
