Eurostar has revealed that it is already a winner as far as the Rugby World Cup is concerned.
The high-speed service linking the UK to mainland Europe estimates that as many as 600,000 people will travel from London St Pancras to Paris Nord or Lille Europe.
The tournament, which is returning to France, takes place this month as well as next. Â Teams from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales will be taking part and thousands of fans are expected to travel to France.
The increased numbers travelling on the sustainable route to France represents a 30% increase compared to the same months in 2022.
Around 50 additional services will run on the London-Paris route and passengers in Standard Premier or Business Premier will be treated to special rugby-shaped desserts. Â Vanilla pannacotta with a hint of raspberry will be served between Thursday 7 and Wednesday 13 September on services from London to Paris.
Passengers travelling in the opposite direction between Thursday 21 September and Wednesday 4 October can look forward to layered chocolate ganache. Â More than 50,000 of the desserts are expected to be served.
