Passengers travelling with Great Western Railway are being advised of track upgrade work taking place from the 17th to the 22nd of September, which will affect journeys between Bristol and Weston-super-Mare.

The work will see track replaced between Bedminster and Worle, level crossing upgrades between Yatton and Worle, and structural repair at Parson Street.

During the planned period of work taking place from Sunday the 17th to and including Friday the 22nd of September, no trains will operate between Bristol Temple Meads and Weston-super-Mare.

Rail travel between Bristol Temple Meads and Taunton via Westbury will still be available to customers including diverted CrossCountry services.

Between Weston-super-Mare and Taunton and between London and the South West via Castle Cary will also still be in operation.

Trains cannot stop at the following stations:

• Bedminster
• Parson Street
• Nailsea & Backwell
• Yatton
• Worle
• Weston Milton stations

During the essential work, rail replacement buses/coaches will be in operation for all stations which are affected.

“We will provide alternative road transport as well as ticket acceptance with First Bus on relevant local bus services in Bristol and North Somerset.”

“In addition, we have also agreed ticket acceptance on CrossCountry trains to ensure our customers can still complete their journeys during this time.”
