Warwickshire and Hertfordshire trains disrupted due to gas leak

Due to a gas leak at , trains between and are being delayed and cancelled.

All lines are blocked, with trains either cancelled or delayed by up to 60 minutes.

Major disruption is expected until 14:30 as the electrified wires have had to be turned off whilst the emergency services deal with the gas leak.

, London Northwestern Railwayand Southern services are disrupted by the incident.

Ticket acceptance is in place for the following:

  • Avanti West Coast
    Chiltern Railways between Birmingham Moor Street and London Marylebone
    CrossCountry via any reasonable route
    East Midlands Railway between Sheffield and London St Pancras International
    Great Western Railway between Reading and London Paddington
    LNER via any reasonable route
    via any reasonable route
    TransPennine Express between Manchester Piccadilly and Leeds and between Leeds and Doncaster
  • London Northwestern Railway
    Arriva Buses route 150, 500 and F70/F77
    Avanti West Coast between Crewe and Rugby and Rugby and London Euston
    Chiltern Railways between Birmingham Moor Street and London Marylebone
  • East Midlands Railway between Crewe and Derby and between Derby and London St Pancras International
    Thameslink between Bedford and London St Pancras International
  • Southern
    Trains which would run between Watford Junction and Clapham Junction will instead run between Shepherd’s Bush and Clapham Junction.
    If you are travelling between Watford Junction and Shepherd’s Bush, you will need to use an alternative route to reach your destination.
