The welcomed visitors from Ukraine recently.

The visitors, girls from Kyiv and Lviv, are involved in heritage railways back in their hometown and are part of a project to establish museums in both cities.

Steam locomotives, which will eventually be displayed in the museum, are currently stored in Poland.

The girls are travelling for inspiration, and have visited the National Railway Museum, the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway and the East Lancashire Railway, with a particular interest in carriage restoration.

The visit was organised by the New Europe Railway Heritage Trust, which specialises in Eastern European Preservation.
