TransPennine Express is advising its customers to plan travel ahead and to check their plans prior to leaving for a journey as further strike action by unions ASLEF and RMT will bring huge disruption to trains impacting Friday the 1st and Saturday the 2nd of September.
Industrial action taking place by ASLEF on Friday, the 1st of September will see its members taking action and will mean that no TransPennine Express services will operate.
Saturday the 2nd of September will see RMT and ASLEF hold action short of a strike which will substantially impact the rail operator’s services.
Please note, passengers will not be able to bring bikes onboard TransPennine Express services on Saturday, the 2nd of September.
To find out more about trains which are running on Saturday the 2nd of September, please visit the TransPennine Express website or visit National Rail Enquiries.
Kathryn O’Brien, Customer Service and Operations Director for TransPennine Express said:
“The further strike action will once again cause severe disruption to our services, as well as those across the country.”
“On Friday there will be no services at all and on Saturday we will run a very limited timetable. Those wishing to travel on the Saturday should seek alternative means and only make journeys if they are absolutely essential.”
“The days after each strike will also be affected and so anyone planning rail travel on Sunday 3 September should allow additional time and check carefully before they travel.”
