Tickets on sale for Christmas travel on London North Eastern Railway

Tickets for travel on North Eastern Railway (LNER) train services over the and New Year period have gone on sale from today, Thursday, 31 August.

The tickets on sale are for travel between Thursday, 21 December and Friday, 5 January 2024. By releasing the tickets now, people will be able to plan their travel in advance for the festive period. In past years, the most popular journeys have been between London King’s Cross, Yorkshire, , and .

London North Eastern Railway also provides ‘early bird’ alert notifications which customers can sign up for, and which offer great value deals and send details when tickets for new travel dates are released.

During travel on London North Eastern Railway trains, customers can experience the company’s legendary hospitality, which provides a complimentary refreshments service in First Class and at-seat ordering in Standard Class through its ‘Let’s Eat at Your Seat’ service.

According to the latest figures from the Office of Rail and Road (ORR), the London North Eastern Railway is leading the way to encourage people back to travel by rail as it recently topped the table for the largest recovery in passenger numbers for franchised operators

David Horne, Managing Director at LNER, said: “Christmas is one of the most popular times of the year for people to travel with us, whether they are spending time with family and friends or enjoying a festive break to some of our magical destinations. We are pleased to be able to place tickets on sale so far in advance and look forward to welcoming people onboard our services this Christmas and New Year period.”
