Charity ‘Give a Dog a Bone’ is raffling a bottle of Caledonian Sleeper whisky to raise money for its work in matching older people with rescue pets in Scotland.
Caledonian Sleeper produced just two hundred bottles of the single-malt, single-cask whisky to celebrate one hundred and fifty years of the London-to-Scotland Sleeper service. It did so in partnership with the Annandale Distillery Company, which formed in 2007 and bought the site of the original Annandale Distillery in Dumfries and Galloway and returning it to operation.
Caledonian Sleeper donated seventy-centilitre bottle number 126 to Give a Dog a Bone, one of its official charity partners.
The charity combines tackling loneliness in later life with re-homing animals by helping over-60s to afford a rescue pet companion. It also runs Community Spaces in Shawlands, Troon and Alloa, which offer social and canine companionship to people aged over sixty.
Raffle tickets cost five pounds each and are available to buy now, with sales closing on Friday 29 September. The winning ticket will be drawn a week later, on Friday 6 October.
