Northern is issuing travel advice to customers making journeys across the north of the country as strike action will see services disrupted on Friday the 1st and Saturday the 2nd of September.
The strike action comes as part of the union’s ASLEF and RMT‘s ongoing industrial action.
The rail operator has now released a travel advice calendar which covers the period from Friday the 1st through to Monday the 4th of September and details of which services will be impacted by the action.
Friday the 1st of September:
- No Northern services will operate across the network as members of ASLEF who work as train drivers for the rail operator will carry out a further walkout.
Saturday the 2nd of September:
- A significantly limited Northern service will be operating across its network as members of RMT who work across an array of areas, including train conductors, will take part in strike action.

Sunday the 3rd of September:
- Fleet displacement because of the strike action taken on the days prior will see early morning services disrupted.
Tricia Williams, chief operating officer at Northern, said “We can only apologise again for the disruption this strike action by ASLEF and the RMT will cause to our customers.”
