Greater Anglia rail passengers advised to check ahead of travelling this August

Greater Anglia is advising its customers to check their travel plans ahead of making a journey between Monday the 7th to and including Saturday the 12th of August as union ASLEF takes action short of a strike. The industrial action will see a number of services cancelled across all days however, most routes will only experience a small number of cancellations.

Currently, details of cancelled services have been made available from Monday the 7th to Friday the 11th of August and are featured below. Cancellation details for Saturday the 12th of August are not yet released and will be available via the Greater Anglia website’s homepage once confirmed.

Passengers are strongly advised to check their travel plans ahead of making a journey if travelling between Monday the 7th to and including, Saturday the 12th of August.

Passengers who require assistance arrangements will be able to organise them as usual however are advised to book assistance in advance where possible.

Jamie Burles, Greater Anglia managing director, said:

“While the vast majority of services will be running as normal during the period affected by action short of a strike, there will be some cancellations across our network.

“We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by these service alterations and advise customers to plan ahead and check before they travel.

“The rail industry is working hard to resolve the current disputes and reach an agreement.”
