Eurostar Group has announced that from Thursday (31 August), passengers can buy tickets for its new Eurostar Snow service.
The service travels from London St Pancras to the Alps via Lille Europe, where passengers will change onto a Eurostar continental train which will take them to the pistes.
Eurostar Snow aims to provide a more environmentally-friendly and “hassle-free” travel option for ski and snowboard enthusiasts who would usually fly to their destination.
The new service visits more stops in the Alps than ever before. Eurostar Snow’s destinations include top ski resorts, such as Chambéry, Albertville, Moutiers, Aime-La Plagne. Its final destination is Bourg-Saint-Maurice in the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France.
Eurostar Snow will run for eight weekends throughout the ski season, starting on 16 December. The train will leave on the Saturday morning, and will arrive at the slopes in time for après-ski. The return journey to London leaves on the Sunday morning, arriving at St Pancras International in the afternoon.
Fixed fares start at £99 one-way in Standard and £149 in Standard Premier. These prices are for off-peak dates 13/1/2023 to 04/02/2024. There will be a generous luggage allowance of two suitcases, one piece of hand luggage and skis or snowboard at no extra cost.
Passengers returning from France to the UK will go through check-in, security and immigration at Lille Europe before continuing their journey to London.
Francois Le Doze, Chief Commercial Officer of Eurostar Group said, “We’re proud to offer our customers a sustainable travel option to the Alps by launching our first connecting service as Eurostar Group. With a quick and easy connection, competitive pricing and five stops to choose from, passengers can enjoy a seamless experience with us from the city of London to the snowcapped mountains of France.”
