East Midlands Railway is reminding its customers of upcoming strike action by unions RMT and ASLEF, which will mean that no railway services will operate on Friday the 1st of September and significantly reduced services in operation on Saturday the 2nd of September.
Saturday the 2nd of September will see most routes operating one train each hour with reduced operating hours from 6.30 to 18.30 and last departures much earlier than usual between 15.00 and 16.3o.
During the strike action, customers of the rail operator are advised only to travel if completely necessary and, if doing so, to be aware of the departure times of the last train ahead of leaving for a journey. Passengers travelling also need to be aware that the strike action will affect other rail operator’s routes across the country.
Customers travelling to Skegness are advised to book journeys ahead. Those who have already purchased their tickets can use them on either the service before or after.
Customers travelling whose train is cancelled or delayed or those who opt not to travel during the industrial action can alter ticket dates or return them for a full refund via the point of purchase.
Travel on Saturday the 2nd of September is affected as follows:Â
EMR Intercity:
- One Train Per Hour between Nottingham and London St Pancras
- One Train Per Hour between Sheffield and London St Pancras
EMR Connect:
