Today (Wednesday 23 August), Bachmann Europe is attending the sixtieth birthday celebrations of Monk Bar Model Shop and unveiling its new models.
Monk Bar is located in the historic city of York, and has stocked Bachmann products since they were first launched in 1989. In 2007, it won the Bachmann Retailer of the Year award.
Bachmann is using today’s event to launch two new Sales Area Exclusive Models, which it is displaying throughout the day. The models depict two Scottish prototypes, and will be available from Bachmann retailers in Scotland, the North East and North West of England, and North Yorkshire.
The models are of diesel locomotives Scottish Class 20 duo Nos. 20048 and 20100. Both feature Disc Headcodes and carry the West Highland Terrier logos applied by Eastfield Depot during the mid-1980s, where the pair were allocated.
No. 20048 went on to enter preservation, once again carrying BR Blue livery with West Highland Terrier logos.
No. 20100, which was built in 1961, was withdrawn in 1989 and scrapped in 1991.
Both models are available in both standard format (RRP: £224.95) or with SOUND FITTED (RRP £324.95). The models can be ordered now and will be delivered next month.
