The Spa Valley Railway is hosting a hilarious dining experience next month with its A Taste of: Faulty Towers The Dining Experience! special event.
The show comes straight from London’s West End via the legendary Sydney Opera House, and is being held on board a magnificent steam train on Saturday, 12th August 2023. Faulty Towers The Dining Experience is based on the BBC TV series Fawlty Towers, written by John Cleese and Connie Booth, but their original TV scripts are not used in Faulty Towers The Dining Experience as it uses its own original script and format.
Guests can become part of the action whilst Basil, Sybil, and Manuel run riot alongside a three-course meal and two hours of non-stop laughter. The train journey will be a brilliant night of guaranteed fun as guests join the BBC’s iconic TV show and experience it from the inside.
Over 70% of the show is off the cuff, and is completely immersive and highly interactive comedy spectacular where guests should be prepared for anything to happen.
The evening starts at Tunbridge Wells West station at 18:00 in the Victorian Engine Shed before boarding the dining train for two return trips to Eridge hauled by a steam locomotive and a heritage diesel. The menu for the evening includes:
- APERITIF – Harvey’s Bristol Cream Sherry
- CANAPÉS – Bistro Vegetarian Canapés
- STARTER – Caprese Salad – Bread Roll with Butter
- MAIN COURSE – Cod & Chips or Sausage & Chips or Veggie Burger & Chips
- DESSERT – Lemon Cheesecake with Cream
- COMPLIMENTARY DRINK – Bottle of Prosecco per two persons
- AFTERS – Tea or Coffee and Mints
Tickets cost £89.50 per adult and can be booked online in advance at www.spavalleyrailway.co.uk. By purchasing tickets to Spa Valley events guests are helping the railway to keep its trains running for the future.
Further A Taste of: Faulty Towers The Dining Experience! special events will be held on 30th September and 7th October, with different menus for each event.

Does the BBC own the copywrite of the title Fawlty Towers?
It’s a pity the original Manuel is no longer with us. RIP.
