Model railway manufacturer Rapido Trains UK has announced that it is making available some suitable rolling stock to accompany its Metropolitan E Class locomotives.

Rapido did some research and was pleased to find that the Metropolitan Railway had several five-plank open wagons that are very similar to the tooling for Rapido’s private owner wagons. These wagons had a long life during which they carried several different liveries.

Two new wagons are now being added to Rapido Trains Private Owner collection.

• SKU 967022 is numbered MET. 544 and is in grey livery with brakes on one side only;
• SKU 967023 is a London Transport version numbered A945. Similar to the MET version it is in grey livery but has brakes on both sides.

Both wagons will be available through any Rapido Trains UK Official Retailer, or direct from Rapido Trains UK at www.rapidotrains.co.uk. Both versions are priced at a standard RRP of £32.95 and orders are now being taken, but the order books will close on Tuesday 14th August, in just four weeks’ time so there is not much time to place your orders.

These Metropolitan Railway wagons are an ideal accompaniment to the Metropolitan E class locomotives, as well as the previously announced Alfred Pratt and John J Tims private owner wagons which were both marked to be returned to the Metropolitan Railway.
