London Northwestern Railway is advising passengers of industrial action by the RMT which is set to take place on Saturday the 29th of July and will impact services from 7am to 7pm with some routes not seeing service at all.
Passengers are advised to check their travel plans ahead of making a journey during the strike action.
Further to the strike action by the RMT, union ASLEF has revealed that they intend to undertake action short of strike with an overtime ban which will take place from Monday the 31st of July continuing through to and including Saturday the 5th of August and may lead to a number of routes and services being cancelled at short notice.
This action will also affect other rail operators across the country.
Jonny Wiseman, LNR customer experience director, said: “It is disappointing that industrial action is continuing to affect our passengers’ journeys. I urge passengers travelling next week to check their journeys before setting out as services may be subject to short-notice cancellation. For this reason, I also advise passengers to avoid relying on the last train of the evening where possible.”
“Passengers travelling on Saturday 29 July should plan ahead, as a reduced timetable will be in operation between 7am and 7pm only and some routes will not be served.”
“Anyone holding a ticket for travel on a strike day can use their ticket on a different day or claim a full refund.”
Rail replacement buses will be in operation between Watford Junction and St Albans Abbey from Monday the 31st of July to and including Saturday the 5th of August because of the industrial action.
