Manchester station nominated for Large Station of the Year

Manchester Victoria has been nominated in the category of ‘Large Station of the Year’ as part of the National Rail for 2023.

The busy station is managed by rail operator and sees over ten million passengers travel in and out of it each year.

The station has already seen a visit from judges in order to ascertain if it meets the award criteria including:

  • Information provision
  • infrastructure
  • Customer service
  • Overall cleanliness
  • Presentation
  • ‘Special Features’ such as artwork, memorials and community gardens

The rail operator will learn if they have won the award at the National Rail Awards ceremony which takes place on the 14th of September.

Craig Harrop, regional director for Northern in the North West, said:

“This nomination is a credit to the team at Manchester Victoria who help tens of thousands of customers on their journeys each and every day.”

“Manchester Victoria is a vital hub on the Northern network and to be recognised as the best in the country would be a real coup.”
