The electric wires, which provide power to trains, have been damaged in Cambridgeshire and means that there is disruption to trains today, 31st July 2023.
The damage has occurred between Cambridge and Kings Lynn and means that trains have to run at a reduced speed via Ely.
Disruption is expected until the end of the day, with trains expected to be delayed by up to 30 minutes.
Great Northern says that services in the area are expected to be delayed, with trains running as shuttle services between Kings Lynn and Cambridge, rather than running through to London Kings Cross.
Passengers for London will have to use other services, with ticket acceptance in place with Thameslink between Cambridge, Finsbury Park and London. Greater Anglia ticket acceptance is in place between Cambridge, Tottenham Hale and London Liverpool Street.
Tickets can also be used on London Underground across London, including the Victoria line and Circle / Hammersmith & City / Metropolitan Lines between Liverpool Street and Kings Cross.
