Train Sim World 3 has added the Glossop Line to its collection of routes.
Players will be able to ‘drive’ to Manchester‘s eastern suburbs and the fringes of Derbyshire on the popular Class 323 in Northern livery.
This is the second time that Manchester has appeared in the game, having previously featured in the Northern Trans-Pennine route set during British Rail’s 1980s diesel era. The new Glossop Line instead shows modern Manchester, with electric trains and Piccadilly station as the main terminus at the western end of the line.
Dinting station, next to the 1844 Dinting Viaduct, has a triangle platform layout which divides the route, allowing trains to continue to either Glossop or Hadfield, where the driver changes ends before continuing their journey. The route also includes all Intermediate stations, including Flowery Field and Broadbottom, and players can find collectibles along the way. Manchester’s bee mascot even makes an appearance on platform flowerpots.
Two new features allow players to experience roles other than driving:
- In ‘On Guard’, players work as a guard, including checking passengers’ tickets.
- In ‘Gossip Line’, players take up the role of a photographer, travelling along the line taking pictures of the Glossop Line scenery.
Regular Train Sim World players will notice some additional services if they own the game’s extensive back catalogue. Rail tours, freight trains and more appear from a selection of previous route Add-ons.
