Urgent appeal to identify woman who died on tracks in Manchester

The are urgently trying to identify a woman who sadly died at station last night.

Officers were called to the station last night around 10:41pm following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

Paramedics attended alongside officers, but sadly, the lady was pronounced dead at the scene.

The police are now trying to identify the woman with the help of the public.

She was wearing a floral top, black leggings, pink Gola trainers and had a purple Ori Loosen bag.

The police say that the woman was also wearing a distinctive necklace and was also carrying baby bottles.

Detective Inspector Ian Wright said: “This is a tragic incident and we have been working tirelessly to try and identify the woman so we can inform her loved ones.

“She was wearing a number of distinctive items and I would urge anyone who thinks this description may sound familiar to get in touch with us as soon as possible.
