Rail & HS2 Minister Huw Merriman MP recently played a pivotal role in supporting the UK rail supply sector’s export efforts at the Middle East Rail expo in Abu Dhabi, UAE, held on 15-16 May.
With over 30 UK rail businesses participating in the event, the UK Pavilion, developed in collaboration with the Department for Business & Trade (DBT), the UK Railway Industry Association (RIA), and Intec Export Intelligence, showcased the nation’s expertise and capabilities.
Minister Merriman actively promoted the UK rail industry’s exports during his visit.
Apart from delivering an address at the expo, he dedicated time to interact with exhibitors in the UK Pavilion, many of whom were members of the RIA.
He also held discussions with rail stakeholders from the UAE and other Middle Eastern countries.
This visit served as a platform to emphasize the UK rail sector’s strong global reputation and highlight its success in exporting world-leading products, services, and capabilities to international markets.
