Chiltern Railways is introducing its new timetable which will come into effect this Sunday (21st May) across all of its services. The rail operator is issuing advice to all customers to check before travelling, as normal travel times may differ.

The changes made to Chiltern’s May 2023 timetable mark the ongoing rail recovery as commuter patterns return and leisure travel grows following the pandemic.

The timetable has been created in collaboration with Network Rail and neighbouring rail operators in order to offer an effective timetable supported by data-driven capacity improvements made in December 2022.

The updated timetable will support customers with regular departure times through the majority of the day, which are easy to remember and offer increased levels of connectivity across the rail operator’s network.

Further peak time capacity has been kept in place for Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays alongside increased service frequencies across the West in order to support key commuter routes working with .

These services will see a regular, 15-minute service operating between and .

Some short-term alterations also feature in the timetable until the 10th of June in order to support the ongoing improvements in service between Oxford and London, owing to the closure of Nuneham Viaduct.

The timetable changes have seen Chiltern Railways focus on providing carriages and services where they are most needed during the week, following customer demand trends.

Additionally, the timetable has an overall aim of providing rail passengers with an improved travel experience by offering connectivity between stations and bringing a more reliable service.

Timetables right across the rail network will change at the same time and because of this Chiltern Railways urges customers to triple-check changes which may affect their usual travel.
