The Severn Valley Railway has teamed up with a local luxury catering business to launch a range of premium on-train dining experiences for 2023. It resumed providing dining experiences last year, following pandemic restriction.
Working with Bewdley-based Paisley Flour Catering, the heritage railway is offering high-quality Sunday lunches, afternoon teas, wedding breakfasts, private dining in a luxury observation saloon, ploughman’s lunches and Murder Mystery evenings on selected dates from May through to September.
Diners will travel in first-class luxury as they are served locally-sourced and seasonally-inspired dishes. It will be a chance for food-lovers to step back in time to the golden age of steam, while enjoying delicious dishes in the unique and picturesque setting of rural Worcestershire and Shropshire.
The next premium on-train dining experience is a celebratory King’s Coronation afternoon tea on Sunday 7 May, and tickets for this and all the other experiences are available from the SVR website.
Nicky Freeman, SVR’s visitor experience manager, said, “We are thrilled to welcome Paisley Flour on board to create these top-notch experiences for our diners. We successfully trialled a Sunday lunch at Easter with Paisley, which received excellent feedback from our travelling diners.
“Emma Passey, the founder of Paisley Flour, has a true passion for creating food that both looks and tastes amazing. With her experienced team, she’s going to bring a real taste of luxury to our first-class on-train dining experiences.”
Emma, who has been running Paisley Flour since 2012, said that the company has built up a strong reputation for excellence and creativity. “We’re incredibly excited to be partnering with the Severn Valley Railway on this new venture,” she added. “As a local business, we’re passionate about showcasing the amazing food and drink that Paisley Flour has to offer, and we’re thrilled to be working with such an iconic attraction to do just that.”
