Independent coffee shop ‘The Coffee Counter’ has opened another shop at Croy station.
The small business first opened in 2020 at Drumgelloch and now has shops at three stations along Scotlands Railway.
The Coffee Counter has been aided by the number of potential customers which pass through Croy, Drumgelloch and Coatbridge Sunnyside.
ScotRail has more opportunities for businesses at different stations including Aberdeen and Glasgow Queen Street.
The units available can be used for a range of community led initiatives and both established and start up businesses.
Information on the units can be found at scotrail.co.uk/stationspaces or by emailing [email protected].

Claire Dickie, ScotRail Head of Retail, said: “It’s great to see the success and growth of The Coffee Counter at Drumgelloch, Coatbridge Sunnyside, and now Croy.
“The railway provides excellent opportunities for large and small businesses, and community groups too, with high footfall and locations in the heart of the community.
“We recognise the significant role we can play in improving the towns and villages we serve, and we’ll continue to do all we can to support the businesses and organisations operating along Scotland’s Railway.”
Daniel Cain, Co-Owner of The Coffee Counter, said: “The Coffee Counter’s purpose is to deliver the best coffee experience to our customers and commuters, whilst also serving the local community.
“Despite being a relatively new business, I’m delighted with the progress we’ve made in a short space of time – we’re already thinking about the future growth of The Coffee Counter.”
Brendan Gray, Co-Owner of The Coffee Counter, said: “By being positioned in railway station locations, The Coffee Counter has the benefit of both being able to cater for customers on the rail network, as well as in the community.
“Throughout our expansions, ScotRail has been very approachable and very engaging, and we look forward continuing our successful relationship in the years to come.”
