London North Eastern Railway (LNER) has launched a brand-new podcast series that offers a unique insight into life with the company.
The new series, called ‘The Fast Track’, will show how London North Eastern Railway‘s people and places, and its pioneering approach, provide customers with the best possible experience, from dedicated colleagues who go out of their way to make a difference to digital innovation that makes travel by rail simpler and smarter.
In the first episode, London North Eastern Railway’s proud past is celebrated and looks ahead to what the future holds. This year, 2023, is one hundred years since the original London and North Eastern Railway was established following the grouping in 1923, which was created by the Railway Act of 1921.
The podcast host is broadcaster David Dunning, and he is joined by the National Railway Museum’s Associate Curator, Bob Gwynne, and London North Eastern Railway’s Commercial Director, David Flesher. They talk about some of the past century’s greatest achievements, and how the company continues to push boundaries to create even greater feats of engineering, speed, comfort, and customer service.
David Flesher said: “We’re delighted to be launching our new podcast ‘The Fast Track’. Our Azuma trains call at dozens of destinations between the Scottish Highlands and London that are just waiting to be discovered. In LNER’s centenary year, we are prouder than ever of our 956-mile East Coast route.
“There are so many interesting people and stories to share. Our podcasts will offer listeners a fascinating insight into life at LNER, from our colleagues working to deliver the best possible experience to our commitment to the communities we serve, and how digital innovation is helping to revolutionise rail travel.”
‘The Fast Track’ is available to listen to online at https://shows.acast.com/lners-the-fast-track/episodes/63fc670eb92666001184223a and will also feature on London North Eastern Railway’s social channels and website, with future episodes planned.
