Wensleydale Railway has teamed up with PNP Events Ltd for the return of the ‘Herriot Winter’ which is an on-train interactive experience for families and will take place on Saturday the 18th and Sunday the 19th of February.

The performances are based on the well-loved books ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ by James Herriot.

The Dales’ favourite vet will accompany families on a train journey from Bedale to and return with the event seeing a number of actors perform a selection of cameos based on the books as the train makes its journey.

The event is extremely interactive and features actors wearing period costume alongside a number of animals which can be petted as well as having a photo taken with.

The events leave from Bedale at 10:40, 13:10 and 15:40 and as numbers are limited booking early is advised. The entire journey takes a little under 2 hours with refreshments available from Bedale and Leyburn.

Due to the nature of the event the services are not suitable for dogs.
