Northern has added greatly reduced prices for group travel bookings to the sales of reduced-price tickets that were announced last week.

Bookings for group travel bookings made before the end of January will now benefit from savings of up to 75%.

To qualify for the savings, groups must consist of ten or more people and make their bookings by 4pm on Tuesday, 31st January. The discounts only apply to journeys on , and only for off-peak return tickets for travel between next Monday, 23rd January and Monday, 20th March 2023.

The discounted tickets will provide the perfect opportunity for groups to enjoy a day out at a host of destinations across the north of England. These could be a day trip to Chester to see the largest Roman Amphitheatre in Britain, its 1000-year-old Cathedral, or its zoo, or a visit to Manchester to explore its museums and galleries.

Groups wishing to book discounted tickets should do so online at https://www.northernrailway.couk/januarysale

Northern is continuing to remind customers that a new timetable came into effect last December. All customers should use the new ‘Check My Timetable’ feature on its website at https://www.northernrailway.co.uk/check-my-timetable to confirm the train times at their local station, as these may have changed for anyone who has previously made regular journeys on specific trains in the past.

Mark Powles, customer and commercial director at Northern, said: “After Christmas and New Year we wanted to give our customers a lift – and the huge discounts we’re offering group bookers across the whole of our network are a real bargain.”

Northern is the UK’s second largest train operator, and every day operates 2,500 services that serve more than 500 stations across the North of England.
