London North Eastern Railway which recently celebrated its centenary of the East Coast Route, is getting behind suppliers from right across its East Coast route from Scotland, North East England, Lincolnshire, Yorkshire and London.
The specially and responsibly sourced items have been chosen based on their high quality with locally sourced goods taking high precedence for the new First Class menu.
The menu also features a wide array of vegan dishes marking Veganuary 2023 as a fantastic opportunity to get people to give the vegan diet a try.
The rail operator is well known for its customer service and offers three complimentary menus – Dine, Dish or Deli which provide those travelling in First Class more choices than ever (dependent on services travelled on).
Services providing the Dine menu include tasty dishes from the popular ‘Full LNER’ or ‘Full Veggie LNER’ cooked breakfast which is made freshly onboard by London North Eastern Railways chefs. The menu also sees roast chicken with roast potatoes and wilted green in a sherry and shallot sauce and creamy coconut sweet potato curry as part of its delicious options. For dessert includes treats such as sticky toffee pudding with salted caramel sauce.
Supporting Veganuary for the first time, the rail operator has included a number of delicious vegan choices such as sweet potato pakora Bang Bang salad bowl, falafel, roasted pepper and humus sandwich and vegan sausage roll.
Richard Judge, Head of Customer Experience Proposition at LNER, said: “We pride ourselves in offering our customers the best possible experience and we’re delighted to be introducing our new year menu. The communities we serve really matter to us and we are also proud to support local suppliers along our route. By working together, we’re proud to be able to offer such a wide range of delicious and flavoursome
food and drink onboard our trains, further enhancing our customer experience.”
Choices for hot sandwiches also include vegan selections, waffles and a speciality salad bowl which are also included on the Dine and Dish menus as well as a good selection of hot and cold drinks.
Customers using Deli will find a fantastic selection of sandwiches, snacks, biscuits and sweet goodies available as part of its complimentary catering for First Class.
Customers travelling in Standard can also take advantage of London North Eastern Railway’s ‘Let’s Eat At Your Seat’ at-seat service.
Customers will be able to discover which menu will be available when booking with either the London North Eastern Railway website or app.
